Radio History

Marconi is considered the father of the wireless radio, but it wasn't until 1927 when Philips introduced an easy-to-use wireless radio set without complicated coils and knobs on the outside that the industry really took off. Broadcasts began all around the world, and completely revamped the communication system. Now anyone anywhere with a wireless set could receive news from around the world as soon as it was transmitted from a broadcasting center. It was a link to the outside world for most rural communities.
